Dear Ralph:
Thank you for the opportunity to participate in several demonstrations of the Baker
Life Chute. I was blinded in Vietnam in 1968. Since then the Vietnam war has become a lost
cause. The war did not have a favorable ending and there is little our country can do
about the past.
However, I am happy to participate in the demonstration of a product which will help
many others in the future. Our country is founded on the free enterprise system. The
creativity of individuals such as yourself gives us the hope we need for our future. The
lives that will be saved by the installation of the Baker Life Chute throughout the
country is something to be proud of. Congratulations.
Those who have the fear of heights can rest assured that they will feel safe in the
comfort of the Baker Life Chute. The chute obscures the ability to see the ground,
therefore my participation is no different than someone else who has sight. Individuals
with other disabilities, in my opinion, would also give your invention a favorable
critique.
I hope to see thousands of your chutes throughout the country. The thought of being in
a fire on the 25th floor of a high rise building is frightening. The elevators do not
work, starirwells which channel smoke upward are dangerous and difficult to find. However,
there is a way out, thanks to the Baker Life Chute.
Yours truly,
