This unit provides rescue
personnel with maximum flexibility for safe evacuation from structures up to 150' in
height, or approximately 15 stories. It's unique construction allows the chute to be
positioned and braced from walls or windows, and it can be readied to evacuate victims
within minutes. It's portability allows it to be positioned far from flames, from venting
smoke and from damaged structural components. A package of five units of various net
lengths provides evacuation capability from buildings ranging from 2 to 15 stories, and it
is recommended for most municipal fire departments.

This unit is appropriate for all roof structures but
especially for evacuations from structures over 150 feet in height. As a permanantly
located device, it can be stored on the roof of a building or other tall structure. This
versatile model can be moved rapidly to any of several pre-determined rooftop positions,
allowing rescuers to choose the most favorable descent route, farthest from the flames or
other peril. [Installation Worksheet] |

The Heavy Duty model was specifically designed with
helicopter positioning in mind. By the simple addition of appropriate slings, this
self-contained pod can be positioned on a rooftop in a single pass, minimizing pilot/crew
exposure to heavy smoke and updrafts that are characteristic of large fires. Thanks to its
robust construction and its rapid deployment features, the Air-Lift Variation can
eliminate the need for the kinds of dangerous rooftop rescue operations that have become
all too familiar on televised news programs recently. [Installation

This model is designed to be permanently attached to the bucket structures of standard
firefighting aerial platforms or tower ladders. Manufacturers' specifications must always
be respected, but, within these, it provides a rapid means of egress for firefighters in
the event of mechanical or hydraulic failure during rescue operations. It also provides a
direct, safe conduit from bucket to ground for victims, and it eliminates the
time-consuming maneuvers involved in lowering and raising the platform. The Aeril Paltform
Unit is produced in 3 standard lengths: 90, 100 and 110 feet. |
